Constantine Law partner Simon Fenton has presented an innovative all-day seminar on Employment Tribunal Procedure alongside employment organisation Acas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service).
Acas is an organisation which provides free and impartial information and advice to employers and employees on all aspects of workplace relations and employment law. Its purpose is to improve organisations and working life through the promotion and facilitation of strong industrial relations practice.
To a packed room at the Reading FC’s Madejski Stadium, the seminar which took place on 27 September covered everything from the point at which employers and employees fall out of love, to going through disciplinary proceedings, Acas Conciliation, filing employment tribunal claim forms and all the interim stages until a hearing.
For a practical demonstration of what happens at a hearing, Simon worked with leading barrister’s chambers, 2 Temple Gardens, to present and play out a mock trial.
The session’s feedback was universally positive, said one attendee; ‘Very informative, extremely useful an something I will be recommending to others in the company – absolutely brilliant.’
Another delegate said of the way the seminar was presented; ‘Brilliant. So informative, reassuring and entertaining.’
Simon will be working with Acas to present further seminars early next year. For more information visit the Acas website.
