Fiona Hewitt

Fiona is a leading employment and disputes lawyer with over 23 years’ experience and is listed in the Legal 500 2024 edition where one testimonial says “Fiona Hewitt is highly experienced, efficient, and particularly good at looking after vulnerable clients in high value, complex cases. Excellent negotiator and litigator.”

Fiona qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and is also an Accredited Mediator. She has worked at both large and small law firms including a Trade Union firm and, having also worked for herself, has a real life understanding of running a business. Fiona has always dealt with both employment matters and disputes, so is often called upon to advise in situations where both of these elements are coming into play, such as restrictive covenants and boardroom/partnership disputes. She also regularly assists on the restructuring/acquisition/sale of businesses where there are affected employees and enjoys the reputation management side of the resolution of disputes having frequently dealt with the media. Fiona has a particular interest in disability discrimination, particularly in relation to PTSD and disfigurement.

In 2023, Fiona was shortlisted for Disputes Lawyer of the Year at the inaugural Women & Diversity in Law Awards. These awards were launched to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the people, teams and businesses helping to make the UK legal sector more diverse and inclusive.

Fiona is proud to have been a Committee Member of the Law Society’s Disabled Solicitors Network and an Ambassador for Changing Faces. She is the Honorary Solicitor for Team Endeavour Racing and for Community Care North Bucks and has on various occasions been asked to comment in the press, on television and on radio.

Outside of work, Fiona enjoys spending time with her young daughter and in particular cooking and listening to reggae music- usually at the same time.
