Alan Lewis is quoted in People Management discussing whether employers should ban alcohol from work events. Alan points out employers need to be careful because, under common law, employers can be held ‘vicariously liable’ for wrongdoings committed by workers while acting in the course of their job. They therefore need to take steps to protect themselves from possible legal action.
