NEWS RELEASE
Lucy Bloom joins from Osborne & Wise to become eighth employment partner in consultant-led law firm.
29th June 2023 Constantine Law, the consultant-led “agile” employment and regulatory specialist law firm has recruited Lucy Bloom to join the firm. The appointment takes Constantine Law to a headcount of eleven partners and a total of 16 fee earning staff - including eight specialist employment partners. There will be additional partner hires announced shortly.
Lucy Bloom is an experienced employment lawyer and joins from Osborne & Wise where she was a Partner. She has a wealth of experience advising both employers and senior executives on all aspects of employment law, including advisory, transactional and contentious work.
Lucy regularly works with HR Directors, General Counsel and Board Members of SMEs and large companies to provide practical and creative legal solutions to their specific business requirements. She has expertise in advising clients on managing workplace conflicts, including navigating complex grievance and disciplinary processes, redundancy exercises, TUPE, changing terms and conditions of employment and ill health in the workplace.
Lucy is also a highly experienced litigator, advising and representing both employers and senior employees in high value Employment Tribunal proceedings including unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment and victimisation in the workplace. She also acts for senior executives on grievance and disciplinary issues, discrimination and contract and restrictive covenant matters.
Lucy’s clients come from a wide range of sectors, ranging from financial services to hospitality and luxury lifestyle.
Lucy joins a growing team of senior lawyers at Constantine Law and her appointment comes soon after the arrival of employment partner Neil Johnston who joined the firm from Bolt Burdon at the end of May and regulatory partner Emmeline Coerkamp who joined from PCB Byrne earlier in the year.
Commenting on the new appointment, Managing Partner John Hayes said, “Our recruitment of high calibre lawyers such as Lucy, and before her Neil, is a testament to our business model and the attractions of working for a progressive collegiate firm like ours. We are without the fixed costs of many firms, and we don’t impose targets, so our solicitors have more freedom to work and develop their work in a way that suits them best. At the same time, we provide strong backup with a team of junior lawyers and strong support systems which mean our partners can concentrate on winning and working for their clients. We are seeing this is appearing increasingly attractive to a number of those working in the legal profession.”
“Legal advice on employment matters continues to be in demand - both for individuals and for businesses so we will be continuing to hire highly rated employment lawyers to boost our offering to clients and our reputation in this field even further. We welcome Lucy to the practice.”
