Peloton employee wins discrimination case at Employment Tribunal. Alan Lewis comments in People Management

The fitness company, Peloton, has recently been found liable for disability discrimination in relation to an employee who suffered with autism.  The London Central Employment Tribunal decided that Peloton had failed to make reasonable adjustments at its Covent Garden site which meant that the employee had to work in an environment that failed to meet his “sensory needs”.

 

Commenting on the case in People Management, Alan Lewis of Constantine Law outlined critical lessons HR teams can take away from this case and said, “Management should be able to demonstrate that they considered options carefully and had sound reasons for concluding that an adjustment would not be reasonable.”
