The gender pay gap persists in the real estate industry: Ellie Rogers comments in Property Week

Research done by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has highlighted the persisting gender pay gap in the real estate and construction industries. These traditionally male-dominated industries still retain a gender pay gap of between 7.2% (real estate) and 22.4% (construction).
Our Senior Associate, Ellie Rogers, speaking to Property Week, sounds a warning to employers not to rush into clumsy attempts to redress this imbalance. Instead, Ellie suggests employers should plan careful strategies for reducing the gap, in order to avoid inadvertent, indirect discrimination, counselling that "it is vital to scrutinise the root causes of disparity – there can be a variety of reasons and it’s not just about pay".
