Tribunal rules all on-call hours should be paid in full. Alan Lewis comments in HR Magazine.

An ET has ruled this week that employees of Covert Authorities Bureau at Humberside Police Force operating on standby duty, should have their shift classed as working hours and paid in full, even if they are not called out during those hours.


Alan Lewis comments that as “the judgment establishes that on-call hours can be considered working time, even when employees are not physically at the workplace", employers need to ensure that their working arrangements are in compliance with this ruling.
