Managing Redundancies and Related Immigration Issues in Challenging Times

Changes introduced under the Employment Rights Act mean that redundancies are getting riskier.
If incorrectly managed, employers could face more time-consuming, expensive and reputationally damaging claims. The current economic climate, coupled with the AI revolution, seems likely to lead to more redundancies as businesses look to reshape their workforce.
In our upcoming webinar, “Managing redundancies and related immigration issues in challenging times”, Employment Partner Catherine Wilson and Immigration Partner Alex Finch will provide their insight on how businesses can avoid these damaging, costly pitfalls while better managing their workforce for growth and future success.
Among other pressing, practical issues, Catherine and Alex will discuss:
🔷 Statutory meaning of redundancy, including the pool of one.
🔷 Individual consultation obligations, including the right to be accompanied, time scales and the right of appeal.
🔷 Treatment of protected employees, such as maternity leave returners and disabled staff.
🔷 Immigration issues, such as reporting obligations and avoiding common mistakes.
🔷 Can sponsors keep foreign workers on the books until they get ILR?
🔷 What will happen to a sponsored worker when their role ends?
